The Looking Glass Wars Contest

The Looking Glass Wars turns the classic story of Alice in Wonderland on its head: the story we know as Alice in Wonderland was Lewis Carroll's rendition of what Alyss told him; however, we find out at the beginning of the book that Carroll got it all wrong. Turns out Alyss is actually from Wonderland, having been transported to Earth to protect her from her evil aunt, Aunt Redd. With the help of Hatter M., can Alyss save Wonderland?

Like the book, Wicked, which re-invented the world of Oz for our generation, The Looking Glass Wars attempts to do the same thing to Carroll's world of fantasy.

If anything, the depiction of playing card soldiers should fuel some creative thought for new presentations of your favorite card tricks. (A trick involving dueling cards? A war of cards maybe?)

Well, it just so happens that I have an extra copy of The Looking Glass Wars, as well as the soundtrack CD. I'm going to give it away through the blog through the following contest:

Submit a trick (method and presentation) dealing with the theme of Alice in Wonderland and/or The Looking Glass Wars. Check out the website for the book for further inspiration.

The best trick (judged on originality, creativity, and incorporation of the "Alyss" theme) wins the book and the CD!

A New Leaf

I have really exciting news - a media company contacted me and asked me to give away a book and CD as a means for promoting it. The book is The Looking Glass Wars, which puts the story of Alice in Wonderland in a completely new perspective. The CD is a soundtrack inspired by the book, which is pretty cool.

So, look forward to the next post in a day or two, when I tell you guys, my loyal readers, how you can win these wonderful prizes!
